Job Summary

Operates on-call in the field or provides technical support to assigned customers. Perform skilled, technical work in the design, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair for underground utility work.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Pressure testing & chlorination of water mains
  • Pressure & vacuum testing of sanitary sewer mains & manholes
  • Live taps, valve insertions & line stops
  • Water line leak location
  • Manhole coring
  • 24-hr emergency service
  • Working in manhole boxes and trenches

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year or utility pipe experience or underground utility work
  • Automotive and truck repair
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED
  • A degree in Automotive / Diesel Technology or Mechanical Engineering
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean MVR
  • Must pass a background check, drug test, and obtain a DOT med card (physical)
  • Overnight travel and weekend work may be required at times.
  • This position requires on-call and overtime availability

Environmental Job Requirements
  • Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (50 pounds).
  • You will be regularly exposed to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as heat, cold, dust, fumes, or odors.

Special Skills/Experience/Knowledge
  • The ability to read & interpret documents such as operating & maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and safety rules
  • Willingness to work within OSHA & company safety guidelines
  • Required to hold a valid OSHA 10 card - The company will provide training as required including the OSHA 10 certification
  • Good verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to make decisions & work efficiently & effectively within specific periods
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, year-round
  • Must have a good mechanical aptitude, the ability to lift 50 pounds safely, the ability to learn quickly & apply that knowledge & be willing to work in a team environment.
