Summit Products is looking for a talented Engineer that has proven new product development experience.

Summit Products supplies products to a unique/niche market in the RV industry as well as custom fabrication products to the local area. Summit’s smaller size and growing business make it the perfect opportunity to advance your career and hone your skills.

The ideal candidate is someone comfortable working with many departments within the company including, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Scheduling, Marketing, Sales, and Accounting. You will work together with each of these departments to take into consideration all market, operations, manufacturing, and cost target considerations to successfully take a product from the conceptual stage through to completion. We are looking for someone who is creative, and has skills in analysis, enjoys hands on work, problem-solving, and new product development.

Job Duties:

· The ability to provide unique solutions to complex problems is a must.

· Quick turnarounds from concept to completed product are expected.

· Having a “Hands on” approach when assembling and building concepts and prototypes is expected.

· Must be able to manage multiple projects at a time while working in a dynamic environment.

· Must be able to work in an environment where there will be constructive feedback.

· Experience in accessory design.

· Experience collaborating with suppliers and dealing with long lead time components.

· Experience developing Sheet metal, extruded and injected molded components.

· Experience working with a wide variety of stainless steel and aluminum alloys.

· Proficient in Solidworks and AutoCAD software.

· The ability to create and revise production fixtures and assembly tools.

· Experience working directly with manufacturing personnel to improve both manufacturing and production efficiency.

· Continually have the mindset to innovative by eliminating unnecessary components, reducing cost, and solving problems.

Job Responsibilities:

· High attention to detail.

· Strong work ethic and Self-starter.

· Minimum 3 year experience working in a manufacturing environment.

· Capable of using CAD software, performing calculations and conducting tests as needed during the course of day to day work to complete assignments.

· Strong written and oral communication.

· Demonstrated ability to work within many areas of the company including, but not limited to, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Scheduling, Marketing, Sales, and Accounting.

· Willing to work on the manufacturing floor to gather needed information.

· Experience in ERP systems to create Routings/BOMs, preferred.

· Cost estimating experience preferred.
