Job description

The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new business opportunities and acquiring new clients that align with the company's Ideal Customer Profile (ICP). This role is a true "hunter" position focused on prospecting, networking, building relationships with executive decision-makers, and closing new business.

The Business Development Manager develops and executes strategic sales plans to expand the company's market presence while collaborating closely with marketing and delivery teams to ensure a seamless transition from sales to project execution. Success is measured by new revenue, qualified pipeline growth, and new client acquisition.

Primary Responsibilities

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target industries and markets.

Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects.

Prospect through cold outreach, networking, referrals, social selling, and industry events.

Schedule and conduct discovery meetings with executive-level decision-makers.

Develop relationships with CEOs, COOs, CIOs, CMOs, IT Directors, Marketing Directors, and other key stakeholders.

Generate qualified opportunities through strategic account planning.

Sales Execution

Lead the sales process from initial prospecting through signed agreement.

Conduct needs assessments and identify business challenges.

Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop customized solutions.

Prepare proposals, presentations, and pricing recommendations.

Negotiate contracts and close new business.

Pipeline Management

Maintain an accurate sales pipeline in CRM.

Forecast revenue and sales activity.

Track prospect engagement and next steps.

Maintain disciplined follow-up processes.

Strategic Market Development

Research emerging industries and market trends.

Identify target accounts and develop account penetration strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.

5+ years of successful B2B business development experience.

Demonstrated success selling professional services or technology solutions.

Experience managing complex consultative sales cycles.

Experience selling to executive-level decision-makers.

Strong CRM discipline (HubSpot preferred).
