We have an immediate opening for a Parts Counter person, who will oversee the parts sales process from start to finish, ensuring retail and wholesale customers enjoy a positive parts buying experience. Due to the collaborative nature of this role, successful candidates are excellent communicators, problem-solvers, and enjoy building rapport with clients.  The Parts Counter person reports to the Parts Manager.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist retail and wholesale customers in selecting the required parts and accessories and solicit additional sales. 
  • Locate and order parts from vendors or other outside sources, and maintain contact with vendors and customers regarding order status.
  • Provide customers with price quotes, invoices and other information.
  • Pull and fill orders from stock, ensuring customers receive parts and accessories in a timely manner. 
  • Ensure internal requests for parts are billed on the repair order.  
  • Foster strong customer relationships to generate referrals and repeat business.
  • Maintain the appearance of the parts counter and retail displays, and assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of parts inventory areas.
  • Notify the Parts Manager of out-of-stock parts or other materials that require immediate attention.

Desired Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Previous retail or wholesale auto parts sales experience is highly favorable.  
  • Automotive knowledge is helpful; dealership experience is a plus.
  • Experience reading and interpreting parts catalogs and working with DMS is preferred. 
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, in person and over the phone.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
