Job description

Description:

Red Dot Corporation, the leading producer of premium mobile HVAC units and components for heavy-duty commercial and military vehicles, is recruiting for the following position:

Industrial Engineer

Position Summary

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for independently leading process improvement projects, driving operational efficiency, and applying advanced industrial engineering methods across our manufacturing operations. This role works with limited supervision and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery. The successful candidate models a culture of respect, integrity, service, and excellence — rising to the occasion to elevate standards and lift others along the way.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement projects from problem definition through implementation and sustainment — staying relentless about improvement.

• Design, evaluate, and optimize production processes, layouts, and material flow to maximize throughput and minimize waste.

• Develop and maintain labor standards, capacity models, and production schedules — with a fanatic eye for accuracy and precision.

• Apply advanced Lean and Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, SMED, Kanban, statistical process control) to solve complex problems.

• Conduct cost-benefit analysis and develop business cases for capital projects, equipment purchases, and process changes.

• Lead cross-functional teams in Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and root-cause analysis, focused on solutions and lessons learned.

• Develop simulation models to evaluate process changes, capacity expansions, and new product introductions — looking ahead and anticipating issues before they happen.

• Partner with quality, maintenance, supply chain, and production to resolve operational issues, creating win/win solutions that work for all stakeholders.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to teammates.

• Support new product introduction (NPI) by defining processes, tooling requirements, and labor standards.

• Track project KPIs and report results to leadership.

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Requirements:

Alignment with Company Values — R.I.S.E.

This position exemplifies our R.I.S.E. values:

Respect: Engages with others thoughtfully, assumes positive intent, and communicates with care.

Integrity: Acts with honesty, follows through on commitments, and solves problems without blame.

Service: Puts customer and internal stakeholder needs first, and looks for collaborative, value-driven solutions.

Excellence: Maintains a commitment to quality, detail, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline.

• 3–5 years of experience in industrial engineering within a manufacturing environment.

• Demonstrated experience leading process improvement projects with measurable results.

• Strong working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical analysis.

• Experience with ERP/MES systems (SAP, Oracle, Plex, or similar).

• Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills.

• Ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels of the organization — checking ego at the door and listening generously to other perspectives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred.

• Experience with simulation software (Arena, FlexSim, AnyLogic).

• Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or capital projects.

• Familiarity with automation, robotics, or Industry 4.0 technologies.

Key Attributes
