Job Description

Redwood Credit Union is seeking an Automation Analyst II, who will be responsible for the analysis, design and implementation of advanced enterprise automation solutions that leverage Robotic Process Automation (RPA), AI-driven workflows, and Microsoft Copilot technologies. This role serves as a technical leader in automation initiatives, focusing heavily on integrating AI capabilities such as Copilot agents, intelligent document processing, decisioning, and natural language interfaces into business workflows.

The Automation Analyst II partners closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to identify automation opportunities, architect intelligent solutions, and deliver scalable, secure, and reliable automations across the organization. This role requires a strong balance of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and business process understanding, and operates with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Automation Analysis & Solution Design:

  • Lead end-to-end lifecycle of automation initiatives, including process discovery, feasibility analysis, solution architecture, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Analyze complex business processes and independently evaluate and recommend AI-first and automation-first solutions, incorporating Microsoft Copilot agents, AI prompts and orchestration, RPA (UiPath preferred), workflow and API-based integrations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for intelligent automation, mentoring Automation Analyst I staff and providing direction on solution design reviews.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into strategic and scalable automation solutions that improve organizational operations.
  • Develop detailed technical documentation, solution designs, workflows, and governance artifacts.

AI & Copilot-Focused Automation:

Design and oversee implementation of AI-enhanced automations, including:

  • Copilot agents and copiloted workflows.
  • Intelligent document processing and OCR.
  • AI-assisted decision logic and exception handling.
  • Natural language interaction layers for business users.
  • Integrate Microsoft Copilot capabilities with existing RPA platforms (UiPath) and enterprise systems.
  • Ensure AI automations are secure, compliant, explainable, and auditable, in alignment with internal policies.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend enhancements using emerging AI capabilities within the Microsoft ecosystem.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain UiPath automations and orchestrations at an enterprise scale.
  • Create reusable components, frameworks, and shared libraries to improve development efficiency and consistency.
  • Monitor automation performance, reliability, and throughput, resolving issues and optimizing workflows.
  • Lead testing, validation, and deployment strategies for production automations.
  • Coordinate upgrades, version changes, and platform enhancements across RPA and AI tooling; advise of system improvements.

Operations, Monitoring & Support:

  • Provide advanced technical support for automation and AI workflows, including production issue resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain automation service logs, metrics, and performance dashboards.
  • Ensure workflows execute accurately, securely, and on schedule (daily, weekly, month-end, and critical business cycles).
  • Review and manage access controls, user security, and encryption standards for automation platforms.
  • Interact with third-party vendors and consultants supporting AI, RPA, and workflow systems.

Governance, Quality & Best Practices:

  • Establish and enforce automation development standards, QA protocols, and AI governance guidelines.
  • Ensure automations meet enterprise standards for security, data privacy, logging, and compliance.
  • Participate in automation roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives, while influencing long-term strategy.
  • Act as an internal advisor to business units on process optimization to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, redundancies, and manual work through intelligent automation.
