Job description

The Mid-Level Automation Developer is responsible for driving the development, testing, and maintenance of automation solutions, scripts, integrations, and analytics. This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals proficient in Python, PowerShell, SQL, and/or Microsoft Power Platform to learn how to translate business workflows into technical solutions. In collaboration with Process Improvement and the Systems team, the Mid-Level Automation Developer plays a crucial role in contributing to automation initiatives within the organization. This role builds on foundational automation skills and adds technical leadership, mentoring, and broader business impact.
The Mid-Level Automation Developer develops, tests, and maintains automation solutions. This position implements business workflows through automation scripts using languages such as PowerShell, Python, PowerQuery M, and Power Automate. This position also designs applications and integrations between systems using APIs and scripted solutions. The role emphasizes teamwork and knowledge transfer to ensure adequate cross-training, backup support, and operation continuity.
  • Automation Development & Integration
    • Build automation scripts and solutions using PowerShell, Python, and other relevant tools that are scalable, resilient, and well-documented.
    • Create integrations between systems utilizing APIs and scripted imports/exports.
    • Test new automation scripts and workflows.
    • Define and maintain coding standards, reusable modules, and patterns.
    • Conduct code reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.
    • Own version control, testing approaches, and release practices.
    • Lead IT projects focused on designing new processes.
    • Translate business workflows and requirements into automated solutions and tools.
    • Aid QA/PI in analyzing existing workflows and facilitate the development of technical solutions
    • Coordinate computer-related activities within SFM.
    • Monitor automated processes to measure productivity levels.
    • Be accountable for the quality, scalability, and reliability of solutions.
    • Leverage Agile methodologies to ensure consistent value delivery.
  • Data Management & Analysis
    • Implement enterprise architecture best practices.
    • Analyze the company's technology needs.
    • Recommend technology and process improvements to IT Leadership.
    • Create SQL queries as needed for reports and interfacing between systems.
  • Documentation, Collaboration & Training
    • Document automation solutions and technical processes.
    • Participate in and lead training sessions for internal platforms and automation tools.
    • Research and implement industry best practices.
    • Coordinate efforts with QA/PI, PMO, software vendors, IT Leadership, the Systems team, and system stakeholders.
    • Provide technical guidance and assist with the skill development of junior developers and other IT staff.
  • User Lifecycle Management
    • Oversee the provisioning and deprovisioning of accounts across connected systems.
    • Ensure connected systems utilize the same standards and terms for the purposes of Attribute-Driven Access Control.
    • Collaborate with HR and program leaders to leverage directory metadata in system and workflow design.
    • Oversee access control across all connected systems and ensure compliance.
  • Technical Support & Security
    • Provide technical support to end-users for new solutions.
    • Ensure company information and data are accessible only to authorized personnel.
    • Troubleshoot internal processing issues and automated processing issues.
    • Perform additional tasks as directed by the IT Manager.
    • Perform additional duties as required to support the initiatives of the department and organization when requested.
  • Compliance & Safety
    • Follow new management changes and procedures.
    • Comply with Saint Francis Ministries policies, accreditation, licensure standards, regulations, and contractual terms.
    • Know and follow all safety procedures.
    • Protect clients' rights in all interactions.
    • Report unusual incidents through proper risk management, clinical, and safety channels.

  • Associate degree in business or computer science or two or more years equivalent experience.
  • PL-900 Power Platform Fundamentals or equivalent entry level automations or programming certification preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a drug screen, DCF background check, Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance check, Adult Registry Check, and KBI background check.
  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Two or more years of experience, including internships, coursework projects, or personal projects in programming, scripting, or automation-related tasks. Relevant certifications or coursework in languages like Python, PowerShell, or SQL are preferred.
  • Must be familiar with CI/CD processes and versioning.
