Job description

Building Automation Sales Manager

My client is a top notch Building Automation, Energy Management and HVAC company. They are actively seeking a new Building Automation Sales Manager with industry experience.

We’re Looking For

  • Experience Level: Candidates must have strong sales experience and a background in Building Automation Systems (BAS). They do not need to currently be a manager—this is a great step up for a senior sales rep ready for leadership.
  • Technical Familiarity: They don't need to be programmers, but they must have a solid understanding and awareness of controls vendors and front-end/field systems (e.g., Honeywell, Distech, Niagara, Johnson Controls).

Day-to-Day & Key Responsibilities

  • Pipeline & Strategy: Managing the project sales team's pipeline, handling strategy, and leading group estimating reviews.
  • Staff Support: Spending a lot of time supporting and mentoring the staff on estimations. The team has some newer folks who will need help developing their technical skills.
  • Interactions: Roughly 25–50% customer interaction (joining some meetings, but primarily acting in a supporting role to lead the sales reps).

Why a Top Candidate Wants This Job

  • Growth & Strategy: Huge opportunity for growth in the BAS space. The focus is direct-to-client sales and retrofits, rather than constantly chasing stressful new construction projects.
  • Culture: A super fun, highly collaborative, and supportive environment. The sales team doesn't operate in silos; they work and estimate together as a group. Great perks like team outings, retreats, and the annual PSR summit.

Could be total compensation of 250k plus if all metrics are hit!
