As a Senior Associate, Automation Solutions Specialist in SMB Payments , you will oversee and coordinate automation and process improvement initiatives across the Payments organization to unify, guide, and scale solutions effectively. You will provide strategic leadership, governance, and execution oversight for the automation portfolio, partnering with stakeholders across Product, Operations, Technology, Risk, Controls, and Business Management to identify opportunities, prioritize investments, establish standards, and drive adoption of AI, agentic, robotic process automation (RPA), and workflow optimization capabilities. This role requires a combination of program leadership, automation strategy, stakeholder management, governance, process improvement, and execution discipline to ensure automation initiatives deliver measurable value while adhering to enterprise standards and controls.

The JPMorganChase Payments Process Uplift, Automation & Agentic Solutions team is committed to driving operational excellence through intelligent automation, process optimization, and scalable AI-enabled solutions. In this role, you will serve as a central leader and coordinator for automation initiatives across the Merchant Services (MS) ecosystem, establishing governance, aligning priorities, and ensuring the successful deployment of AI, BOT, workflow automation, and process uplift solutions that improve efficiency, consistency, and business outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to assess existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop process improvement strategies that leverage automation and AI capabilities.
  • Facilitate process discovery, workflow mapping, value-stream analysis, and automation opportunity assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, increase scalability, and enhance the client and employee experience.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, standards, and operating models for automation, AI, BOT, and agentic solution initiatives across the Merchant Services ecosystem.
  • Coordinate automation demand intake, prioritization, evaluation, and roadmap planning to ensure alignment with business objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Define and track automation success metrics, benefits realization, adoption measures, and portfolio performance reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate, standardize, and scale automation solutions across teams and business functions.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of automation initiatives from concept through implementation and adoption.
  • Partner with Technology, Data, Digital, and Operations teams to translate business requirements into automation solutions and implementation plans.
  • Support deployment of AI-enabled, agentic, workflow, and robotic process automation capabilities across business functions.
  • Monitor delivery milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues to ensure successful execution and sustainable outcomes. Drive adoption activities including training, communications, stakeholder engagement, and post-implementation support. Promote awareness, education, and best practices for automation and AI capabilities across the organization.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in automation, process improvement, operational excellence, program management, business transformation, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving AI, workflow automation, robotic process automation (RPA), process optimization, or digital transformation.
  • Strong program and project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience developing business cases, prioritization frameworks, governance models, and performance measurement approaches.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to assess processes, identify opportunities, and drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear business recommendations.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment and influence stakeholders across multiple functions and levels.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational, governance, and execution discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within Payments, Merchant Services, Financial Services, or large-scale operations organizations.
  • Knowledge of AI, Generative AI, Agentic AI, Intelligent Automation, Low-Code/No-Code platforms, workflow automation, or robotic process automation technologies.
  • Certification or formal training in Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Product Management, Program Management, or Process Excellence methodologies.
  • Experience establishing enterprise automation governance and operating models.
  • Familiarity with process mining, workflow analysis, and automation opportunity assessment frameworks.
  • Experience defining and tracking automation value realization metrics including productivity gains, cycle time reduction, quality improvements, and operational efficiency outcomes
