About the Opportunity

An industry-leading advanced manufacturing company supporting the aerospace sector is seeking an experienced Automation & Robotics Engineer to join its growing engineering team.

This is a highly visible, project-driven position where you'll lead automation initiatives from concept through production launch while helping modernize a rapidly expanding manufacturing operation.

With significant investments planned over the next several years—including new automated equipment, robotics, and manufacturing technologies—this role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact while working alongside a collaborative leadership team in a growing facility.

If you enjoy building automation systems, managing capital projects, and being on the manufacturing floor solving complex engineering challenges, this is an outstanding opportunity.

What You'll Do

  • Lead automation and capital equipment projects from concept, specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, and production launch.
  • Design, implement, troubleshoot, and improve industrial automation systems supporting advanced manufacturing operations.
  • Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI, SCADA, robotics, and industrial control systems.
  • Program, integrate, and troubleshoot ABB and FANUC robotic systems.
  • Serve as a hands-on engineering resource supporting automated production equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze equipment performance, downtime, and process data to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and EHS teams to improve safety, reliability, quality, and throughput.
  • Support equipment integration, process validation, automation upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain controls documentation, electrical drawings, PLC backups, troubleshooting guides, and operating procedures.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and increase equipment reliability.
  • Manage multiple automation projects simultaneously while maintaining project timelines and priorities.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
  • Approximately 5+ years of automation, robotics, controls, or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects from concept through implementation.
  • Strong experience programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLCs.
  • Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting ABB and/or FANUC industrial robots.
  • Experience with HMI, SCADA, industrial networking, motion control, sensors, VFDs, and servo systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills within automated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting capital equipment projects and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
