Job Details

We're seeking an experienced Building Automation Project Manager to oversee the execution of commercial BAS projects from kickoff through closeout. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing the technical side of controls with customer relationships, project coordination, and team leadership. You'll work closely with engineering, programming, field technicians, and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple BAS projects through all phases of execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate engineering, programming, field installation, startup, commissioning, and closeout activities.
  • Review project drawings, control submittals, sequences of operation, and equipment specifications.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, labor forecasts, and procurement timelines.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal resources to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Attend project meetings and provide regular updates on schedule, financials, and project status.
  • Support field teams by helping resolve technical and operational challenges.
  • Ensure projects meet quality standards while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC Controls, or DDC systems.
  • Previous project management or project engineering experience within the BAS industry.
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment, including AHUs, RTUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and central plant systems.
  • Experience with BACnet, Modbus, and other open communication protocols.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and specifications.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and customer communication.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with platforms such as Niagara, Schneider EcoStruxure, Johnson Controls Metasys, Siemens Desigo, Honeywell, Distech, Carrier i-Vu, Trane Tracer, Reliable Controls, or other major BAS systems.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Experience delivering occupied-building renovations, retrofit projects, or new construction controls projects.
