Job Description Position: Automation Technician - Automotive Industry Location: Toronto, ON Shift: Afternoon Industry: Automotive Manufacturing Job Summary One of our clients in the automotive industry in Toronto is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to join their maintenance and engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting automated production systems, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring optimal performance of manufacturing lines. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and maintain automated production equipment and systems Work with PLC-controlled machinery, robotics, sensors, and control systems Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment Support production line downtime recovery and root cause analysis Assist with installation, setup, and commissioning of automated systems Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards Qualifications Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is mandatory Proven experience as an Automation Technician or similar role Hands-on with Vision Systems, Barcode reader Strong knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley and Omron), robotics, and industrial automation systems Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems Experience with sensors, drives, and control systems Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
