Salary Range: $55,000 - 79,000 CAD annually

As our next Automation Technician, you'll be at the forefront of supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting automation systems on the plant floor. Your handson expertise in PLCs, robotics, mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, system installation, and realtime production support will be essential to keeping automation cells running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

What You'll Be Doing:Installation & Maintenance

Assist in the installation and setup of automation systems and equipment.
Use power tools to perform mechanical and electrical installation tasks.
Conduct regular maintenance checks and repairs to minimize downtime.

Troubleshooting & Support

Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving electrical, mechanical, and robotic systems.
Provide immediate onfloor support to Production during system failures or alarms.

Operational Collaboration

Work closely with Production staff to ensure automation supports quality and production targets.
Coordinate with Controllers and Engineering on hardware/software updates.

Safety & Compliance

Monitor system operations to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Conduct safety assessments and escalate any equipmentrelated risks.

Documentation

Maintain detailed maintenance and repair records.
Document incidents, breakdowns, corrective actions, and preventive measures.

What We're Looking For:

Associate degree/diploma in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent handson experience.
Minimum 1 year of experience working with automation in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, robotics, sensors, and HMIs.
Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
Good communication skills for crossdepartment collaboration.
Ability to work on the plant floor with physical activity (walking, standing, lifting).

Bonus Points If You Have:

PLC Certifications (Siemens, AllenBradley, Rockwell).
Certified Automation Technician (ISA).
Robotics Certifications (FANUC, ABB, KUKA).
Industrial Safety Certifications (e.g., OSHA training).
