What you will enjoy doing*
  • You will design, implement, troubleshoot, and improve automation systems, controls hardware/software, robotics, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors, drives, and related manufacturing equipment
  • Moreover, you will support automated manufacturing equipment from concept through installation, validation, production launch, and sustainment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation
  • You will partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and EHS to resolve equipment issues, reduce downtime, improve process capability, and support production-rate goals
  • You will analyze automation performance data, equipment trends, and process issues to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive sustainable improvements
  • Further, you will support equipment design reviews, process changes, capital projects, Management of Change activities, and automation upgrades to ensure long-term reliability, maintainability, and compliance
  • You will apply, own, and drive Lean Production principles within automation and manufacturing processes, including waste identification, continuous improvement, standard work, and structured problem-solving to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • You will create and maintain technical documentation, controls drawings, procedures, troubleshooting guides, validation records, and other automation-related documentation as required
  • Also, you will perform additional responsibilities, projects, and automation improvement initiatives as needed based on business needs

  • You must have a PhD with 0-3 years of related experience, OR Master's degree (MS/MA/MBA) with 5+ years of related experience, OR Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) with more than six (6+) years of related experience, or 12+ years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree
  • In addition, you will have experience in automation engineering, controls engineering, manufacturing engineering, robotics, or industrial automation within a manufacturing or aerospace environment
  • You will have working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, ABB and/or Fanuc robotics, motion control, sensors, drives, electrical controls, and industrial automation equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing systems, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to improve uptime, reliability, and production performance.
  • You must have the ability to support automation projects, equipment integration, validation, design reviews, and manufacturing process improvements in a regulated or high-compliance environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data, equipment trends, and process metrics to drive decisions and improvements
  • You will have foundational understanding of Lean Production principles, including respect for people, continuous improvement (Kaizen), waste identification (Muda), and basic problem-solving, with the ability to apply, own, and drive these concepts to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost within one's role
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors including humility, transparency, accountability, agility, collaboration, strong communication, continuous learning, and the ability to challenge existing processes constructively
  • You must have the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, and external vendors
