Job Title : QA Automation Engineer (SDET) AI-Enhanced Testing
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically strong QA Engineer with an SDET background to join our team responsible for validating a complex web-based health insurance marketplace. This role combines hands-on manual testing, test automation development, and the use of AI tools in the SDLC. You will contribute to building reliable test coverage, improving automation, and ensuring overall product quality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze requirements and workflows to design effective manual and automated test cases, prioritizing automation where appropriate
  • Perform comprehensive manual and automated testing, including exploratory, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for high-value and repeatable scenarios
  • Contribute to test coverage across UI, API, and integration layers
  • Identify, document, and triage defects with clear reproduction steps and root cause insights
  • Use AI tools to enhance testing, including test case generation, defect analysis, automated test development, and test optimization
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster feedback cycles
  • Continuously evaluate and improve what should be tested manually vs. automated

Required Basic Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proven experience in manual testing of web applications
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, processes, and best practices
  • Strong experience with SQL and data validation
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java)
  • Experience testing APIs and data-driven systems
  • Experience working with modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Comfort using AI tools within the software development lifecycle (e.g., AI-assisted test creation, code generation, debugging, or analysis tools)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience testing complex, data-driven web applications
  • Familiarity with healthcare or health insurance or Medicaid domains
  • Experience with modern automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar)
  • Exposure to cloud-based environments and microservices architectures
  • Experience with performance or load testing
