THE ROLE
Entegris is seeking a hands-on, forward-thinking Automation & Controls Leader to oversee automation strategy and system performance across our three Massachusetts manufacturing sites in Billerica, Bedford, and Franklin, MA. This is a high-impact role where you'll drive innovation, lead a talented engineering team, and shape the future of our automated operations. If hired into this role, you will bring a strong background in industrial automation, robotics, and electrical systems, with a passion for driving innovation and operational excellence.
The new hire will need to be a strategic thinker with a solid analytical mindset, verbal communication, and presentation skills that can be used to influence and align divisional strategy.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead the deployment of new automation technologies and ensure seamless integration with existing production lines to several sites

  • Analyze technical documentation and system schematics to validate compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.

  • Enhance existing machinery with robotic and control upgrades to improve throughput and reduce downtime.

  • Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and control circuits.

  • Maintain and update software libraries for control systems and ensure proper documentation of changes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for automated equipment.

  • Design and configure user interfaces for machine control and monitoring.

  • Lead and enforce cybersecurity standards for manufacturing systems.

  • Work closely with IT, operations, and maintenance to align network and security policies across OT and IT environments.

  • Supervise and mentor automation and controls engineers, providing training on equipment operation and diagnostics.

WHAT WE SEEK
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Minimum 7 years in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment.
  • 3-5+ years experience managing a team, ideally across multiple locations.

  • Proficiency in PLC programming (preferably Allen-Bradley), HMI development, and robotic systems.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work across departments.

  • Ability to travel up to 15% across Massachusetts and select locations throughout North America
