Electrical Controls Engineer


Travel: Minimal (<10%)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | No Regular Overtime


Overview:

Our client is seeking a Electrical Controls Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing equipment and systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, robotics, and manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will be involved in both new equipment development and continuous improvement of existing automated production systems. Projects include robotic automation, assembly systems, machine vision, injection molding support, laser marking, and process automation.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support automated manufacturing equipment and robotic systems
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems
  • Generate and modify electrical controls and pneumatic schematics
  • Manage automation projects including budgets, timelines, and project deliverables
  • Support equipment installation, startup, debugging, and commissioning activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers throughout project lifecycles
  • Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and automation issues on production equipment
  • Evaluate and implement new automation technologies to improve manufacturing efficiency
  • Support machine vision, material handling, assembly automation, and process development initiatives
  • Ensure equipment performance meets safety, quality, and production requirements


Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
  • 5+ years of controls, automation, or industrial electrical engineering experience
  • Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell) and industrial control systems
  • HMI programming experience
  • Ability to read and develop electrical schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred

  • FANUC or other industrial robot programming experience
  • Knowledge of pneumatic circuits and motion control systems
  • AutoCAD, DraftSight, or similar 2D CAD experience
  • SolidWorks experience
  • Machine vision or vision inspection system experience
  • Manufacturing, assembly automation, or injection molding experience
