Key Responsibilities:
Mold Repair & Maintenance:
  • Perform in-depth repairs and maintenance on rubber molds, including welding, machining, and surface finishing to restore molds to operational specifications.
  • Inspect and assess molds to identify wear, damage, or areas requiring repair, ensuring mold longevity and consistent quality in rubber products.
  • Maintain and document repair history and work performed on each mold for future reference.

Equipment Replacement Parts Fabrication:
  • Design, fabricate, and machine high-precision replacement parts for equipment and machinery in the facility.
  • Use manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining tools to produce parts in accordance with technical specifications.
  • Ensure replacement parts meet dimensional, tolerance, and quality standards to minimize equipment downtime.

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to troubleshoot mechanical failures in molds and equipment, offering quick and effective solutions.
  • Assist with root cause analysis of breakdowns and failures to improve processes and reduce recurrence.

Equipment Setup & Operation:
  • Set up, adjust, and operate machinery, including lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining tools, for the repair or production of molds and parts.
  • Maintain machine calibration and ensure proper operation for accurate production.

Preventive Maintenance:
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and molds to ensure they are functioning optimally and proactively address potential issues before they cause disruptions.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities.

Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to understand part and mold requirements.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improving mold and part designs, production processes, and maintenance strategies.

International Travel for Training:
  • Travel internationally to receive specialized training and guidance from master mold technicians. This training will focus on advanced mold repair techniques and troubleshooting skills to ensure continuous improvement and high-quality production standards.
  • Adapt training concepts and new skills to improve operations and mold repair processes within the facility.

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and on-the-job training to team members to enhance skills and performance.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the repair area, ensuring work is completed on time, within specifications, and aligned with safety standards.
  • Coordinate workload and resources effectively to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.

Development of Manufacturing Repair Area:
  • Lead the development and implementation of a new manufacturing repair area dedicated to mold repairs and the fabrication of replacement parts.
  • Integrate advanced technologies, such as automation or other relevant tools, to enhance the repair process, increase efficiency, and improve the quality of molds and parts.
  • Establish and expand the facility's capabilities, ensuring the repair area meets current and future production demands.
  • Collaborate with management and engineering teams to identify technology needs and oversee the installation and setup of new equipment.
  • Train and mentor other team members in the new technologies and repair techniques to ensure a skilled workforce in the new repair area.

Requirements
Skills & Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship or technical training in machining is preferred.
  • Proven experience 5 years in machining, mold repair, and fabrication, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading or supervising a team of machinists or maintenance personnel.
