Job description

The purpose of this position is to "seek to bring forth and establish the cause of Zion." This position is an entry level role that will allow the employee to grow and be properly trained to progress into an Automation Engineer role. This is an apprenticeship role.

Pay rate for this position will be: $29.81/hr depending on experience and education.

Required

    Obtain 4 years (8000 Hours) on the job experience during the apprenticeship.
    Obtain a degree or certificates in the electronics or automation controls field totaling 800 school hours during the apprenticeship.
    Obtain Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 Logix Designer Level 1 and 2 Certificates or current equivalent during the apprenticeship.
    Pass all required safety and equipment certifications and training.
    Understand and communicate in English verbal and written for communication and training.
    Work in a professional manner with others as well as alone without constant supervision.  
    Have a positive attitude with the ability to work as a team. 
    Valid driver's license.
    Must have at least 20/40 vision with or without corrective lenses and not less than 120 degrees combined horizontal peripheral vision.
    Able to safely work in extreme temperatures and dangerous/explosive environments as well as with chemicals.
    Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, push, and pull for extended periods of time.
    Work safely with ladders and mechanical lifts and other high locations for extended periods of time.
    Distinguish between colors.
    Able to work in confined spaces for extended periods of time.
    Have good eye-hand-foot coordination.
    Independently lift and position objects weighing as much as 50 pounds.  
    Must be able to hear operating equipment.

   Preferred

    Experience with Allen Bradley, Foxboro, Siemens, and/or Automation Direct control software preferred.
    Knowledge, or Experience with Analog (4-20mA or 2-10VDC) and Digital I/O preferred. 
    Understanding of, and ability to operate control systems using HMI (Human Machine Interface) preferred.
    Experience with industrial control systems, networking, relational databases, and data acquisition systems preferred.

    Reports any system failures to Sr. Automation Engineer.
    Calibration of process control instrumentation and all industrial control elements including field instrumentation.
    Document validation and testing protocols for automation systems.
    Configure, Service and repair automated systems for boilers, chillers, fuel oil systems, security systems and other systems as defined by industrial type system.
    Configure, integrate, implement mechanical, electrical, electronic, and automated systems.
    Work with automation control schematics, drawings, P&ID's, and other documents.
    Mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software troubleshooting.
    Work with communication protocols for automated control systems based on user requirement specifications.
    Purchase, program, implement, test, and document process instrumentation PLC's, VFDs, automation equipment and components.
    Use Ladder, Function Block, and/or Structured Text with Allen Bradley, Automation Direct and others.
