Description
General Purpose of Job:
Perform service and repair to garage doors and related equipment while exceeding customer expectations and meeting Company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform service and repair to garage doors and related equipment using a variety of power tools, hand tools, ladder and lift mechanisms.
  • Review assigned job ticket and determine correct equipment and parts to be loaded for transport to job sites.
  • Load and unload garage door sections and parts in trucks and transport to assigned job sites daily.
  • Deliver a high level of service to internal and external customers.
  • Log job completion, including parts used and time on the job site and submit to Supervisor daily.
  • Clear jobs as completed with Supervisor.
  • Assess parts, time to complete the job and other resources needed to perform the required service.
  • Develop a quote for service requested to include parts, time and resources.
  • Perform troubleshooting on garage doors and related equipment.
  • Maintain vehicle, equipment, tools, and inventory in a clean, safe, and efficient manner to obtain optimum operation.
  • Adhere to and maintain compliance with established systems, policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all safety and housekeeping expectations and 5s standards.
  • Keep supervisor and Sales team informed of progress, issues and successes.
  • Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for continuous performance and process improvements.
  • Contribute to a spirit of cooperation and teamwork within and between departments.
  • Demonstrate and uphold Company values.

Requirements
Skill, Competency, and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree in Construction Electrician or related trade certification preferred.
  • Six (6) months of garage door installation experience required.
  • Two (2) IDEA certifications preferred.
  • Ability to effectively utilize technology (tablets, mobile phones, computers, email, and scheduling software).
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Forklift/aerial lift certification or the ability to obtain certification required.
  • Ability to obtain DOT certification required.
  • Power limited licensure preferred.
  • Ability to navigate to assigned job sites.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • A high level of attention to detail, organization and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated sound judgement, problem solving and decision-making in
  • emotional, difficult, and stressful situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as open job tickets, service logs and procedure/technical manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Strong customer service (internal and external) focus.

Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk and hear; perform repetitive motion. The employee must frequently carry, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally 150 pounds with assistance. The employee will work around and with mechanical, moving and sharp objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be requested to work extended or variable hours depending on business need.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to stress and variable weather conditions including heat and cold. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
