The location in Calhoun, TN is seeking talent to fill the position of Electrical/Instrumentation Technician. This job is an hourly position.
Domtar Calhoun mill, founded in 1954, is a leading producer of towel and tissue products for some of the largest retailers in the United States. With the recent expansion of its tissue operation at the Calhoun facility, along with additional manufacturing and converting facilities in Florida and Maryland, Domtar, formerly Resolute, has created a competitive integrated tissue business that serves the North American market. In 2018, the company invested $20 million to build a new distribution center, further enhancing its capabilities and commitment to meeting the needs of its customers.
Our Calhoun location (Tennessee) is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Electrical/Instrumentation Technician. You will be responsible to provide safe operation of your assigned mill equipment to work in a safe and productive manner to maximize quality and production while minimizing unscheduled downtime.

Your responsibilities:
  • Support the Tissue Machine and/or Converting Operations by maintaining electrical and instrumentation equipment and executing preventive maintenance routes as directed by the area maintenance supervisor.
  • Understand and execute Lockout and Tagout procedures for all work.
  • Maintain professionalism of the trade using proper tools for the task.
  • Review and input to all job task write-ups prior to performance of work with the maintenance planner and/or supervisor.
  • Work 12-hour rotating shifts (Dupont Schedule- after 1 year of service) or M-F day-shift hours along with overtime or weekends as needed
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.

Your profile:
  • Skill Set: Journeyman E/I required or a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Arc flash hazard certification.
  • DCS/PLC troubleshooting knowledgeable and proficient.
  • Must be proficient in troubleshooting VFD drive hardware and communications equipment.
  • Must know how to operate high voltage test equipment.
  • E/I candidates must be able to configure and tune loops and control logic.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot DCS, Roll Handling and other process monitoring and control equipment hardware and communications systems.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient with automated packaging equipment
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in calibration and maintenance of all tagged field instrumentation.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in lubrication of electrical equipment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the ability to interpret electrical schematics.
