Position OverviewQuanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is seeking multiple Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Coordinators to support a portfolio of Integrated Design & Construction (IDC) substation projects. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and coordinating 3D substation models to support engineering, construction planning, and field execution throughout the project lifecycle. The VDC Coordinator will work closely with engineering, project management, and construction teams to ensure models accurately reflect design intent and construction phase sequencing. This position plays a key role in bridging engineering and field construction through BIM-driven workflows and model-based coordination.What You'll Do
  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for high-voltage substation projects
  • Aggregate and coordinate multidisciplinary models for constructability and sequencing
  • Support clash detection and coordination reviews
  • Participate in recurring construction planning and coordination meetings
  • Update models to reflect construction phasing and schedule adjustments throughout the construction cycle
  • Support constructability reviews and identify potential installation conflicts prior to field execution
  • Coordinate with engineers, designers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure model accuracy
  • Maintain model alignment with Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation and field revisions
  • Assist in establishing and improving VDC workflows and modeling standards for IDC projects
What You'll Bring
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Drafting/Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2-5 years of experience in 3D modeling within a BIM or construction-focused environment
  • Understanding of model coordination and construction planning workflows
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering and construction teams
  • Ability to manage multiple active project models simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Revit, and Navisworks
  • Substation design or construction experience
  • Familiarity with high-voltage substation layouts and equipment
  • Experience supporting EPC or utility infrastructure projects
  • Experience working in Integrated Design & Construction (IDC) or design-build environments
  • Experience maintaining BIM models throughout active construction phases
