About the Role 

We are seeking a Landscape Design Specialist to help bring outdoor spaces to life through creative, functional, and buildable designs. This role blends horticultural expertise, design skill, and estimating ability. You’ll collaborate closely with our sales, operations, and installation teams to create landscapes that reflect both client goals and Blackjack’s high standards. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Participate in client meetings and site visits to understand goals, preferences, and project requirements. 

  • Create conceptual and detailed landscape plans, including planting designs, hardscapes, grading considerations, and supporting documentation. 

  • Prepare accurate project estimates, including materials, labor, and subcontractor pricing. 

  • Produce designs and proposals within expected turnaround times to support a smooth sales process. 

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure designs can be built efficiently and to Blackjack standards. 

  • Revise plans and estimates based on client feedback and evolving project needs. 

  • Stay current on regional plant material, construction techniques, and industry trends. 

  • Maintain organized project files and clear communication throughout each project cycle. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field preferred. 

  • Previous experience in landscape design and/or estimating preferred. 

  • Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Dynascape. 

  • Strong understanding of plant selection, site planning, and landscape construction. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines without compromising quality. 

  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach. 

  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm for creating meaningful outdoor spaces.
