Job description

Job Title: Layout Engineer

Location: Dearborn, MI (Locals Preferred)

Type: Contract

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing facility layouts to improve operational efficiency and space utilization.
  • Create detailed layout drawings using AutoCAD and other engineering tools.
  • Support equipment installation, relocation, and facility expansion projects.
  • Analyze production flow and identify opportunities for layout optimization.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, facilities, process engineering, and project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform capacity planning and workflow analysis.
  • Support plant launch and continuous improvement initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 2-4 years of experience in layout engineering or manufacturing environments.

Strong understanding of plant layout design and production processes.

Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Experience with manufacturing facility planning and equipment layouts.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Automotive industry experience is preferred.
