Job description

This Position reports to:

Production Manager

Reporting to the Production Engineer, the Documentation & Methods Intern supports production activities by executing and coordinating all required preparation tasks before and during production. The intern will also analyze different work sectors to improve them individually with the help of production team leads.

Your Role: Own the Challenge

  • Participate in drafting and improving assembly instructions for the various production areas within the plant.
  • Create drawings of the work areas.
  • Develop job aids for the assembly and wiring technicians.
  • Improve, reorganize, and optimize the cutting, structuring, and wiring sectors.
  • Improve our wire-bundling method for mounting plates and work on projects involving a wire-cutting machine.
  • Establish Kanbans for wire, trunking/conduits, and consumable production goods.
  • Improve manufacturing processes, performance verification, and methods with clear acceptance criteria.

What it takes to run what runs the world

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent will be prioritized (1st, 2nd, or 3rd internship).
  • Mastery of the MS Office Suite (Project and Excel).
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD; ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with Excel scripting and programming is an asset.
  • Knowledge of electrical standards (ANSI, CSA, IEEE, UL, etc.) is an asset.
  • French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
