Job description

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who wants to join a stable and growth-focused manufacturing organization in Graniteville, SC. This is an onsite role working 4 ten-hour shifts (4x10s), with the majority of time spent on the production floor supporting machinery, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position plays a critical role in providing mechanical expertise, leading projects, and supporting plant operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Apply now!

What You’ll Receive as Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • Salary: USD $100,000 – $120,000 / yr

  • Onsite position – Graniteville, SC

  • 4x10 work schedule

What You’ll Be Doing as Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • Serve as the mechanical subject matter expert for one or more areas of the plant

  • Spend approximately 80% of time on the production floor supporting operations

  • Lead continuous improvement and corrective action projects

  • Provide technical support to internal customers

  • Manage projects including new machine installations and equipment upgrades

  • Analyze project requirements and resolve design and engineering challenges

  • Oversee project execution to ensure safety, quality, budget, and timeline adherence

  • Ensure compliance with safety objectives and legal requirements

  • Monitor and evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements

  • Lead mechanical projects through design, fabrication, implementation, testing (FAT), commissioning, and daily operation

  • Develop and manage engineering drawings using AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor, and Vault

  • Create designs, bills of materials, and spare parts lists

  • Work closely with vendors and manage external contractors

  • Conduct equipment risk assessments and implement safety countermeasures

  • Support machine start-up, commissioning, and daily operation

What You’ll Need to Have as Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)

  • Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong 3D modeling experience (SolidWorks, Inventor)

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor software

  • Strong fundamental knowledge of hydraulic and conveying systems

  • Experience leading projects and working with cross-functional teams

  • Strong understanding of machine design

  • Ability to work independently and in team environments

  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills

  • Ability to work safely on a production floor with high temperatures, noise, and heavy machinery
