Position Senior Drafter – Electrical Substation Design Location Forest Park, GA Job Summary Southern Company Services is seeking an experienced Senior Drafter to support the design of Transmission & Distribution electrical substations. This role is responsible for creating and modifying AutoCAD 2D engineering drawings, preparing construction packages, and supporting substation design projects while ensuring compliance with company standards, FAC-008 requirements, and industry regulations. Key Responsibilities Create and modify AutoCAD 2D drawings for electrical substation projects. Develop physical layouts including foundations, grounding, conduit, switchgear, control buildings, and electrical bus systems. Prepare engineering drawings, material takeoffs, and construction documentation. Support substation construction, maintenance, and field services. Coordinate with engineers, project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders. Maintain compliance with Southern Company design standards and industry codes. Participate in occasional field visits to support project execution. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field OR equivalent technical education and relevant industry experience. Experience with AutoCAD 2D drafting and design. Strong understanding of electrical substations, transmission and distribution systems, or utility operations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
