Job description
Trinity TankCar, Inc. is looking for a Senior Auto Welder in our Longview, TX location! Our products are an integral part of the supply chain that helps fuel our lives and our economy. Over the last 85 years, Trinity Industries has grown to over 6,000 employees strong with the common purpose of Delivering Goods, For the Good of All.
What you'll do:
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation for welding. Tack-welds pieces together.
• Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints schematics and sketches using manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment.
• May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies.
• May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Observes all standard safety practices and maintains and completes all required records.
• Follows all safety rules and practices.
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
What you'll need:
• Performs as Level 3 Fitter/Welder
• Fits and tack welds subassemblies or to jacket
• Accurately measures within specified tolerances
Reads blueprints
Please include any certifications, training or relevant experience and complete
details of your work history on your application; need to list at least last 2
employers in application, if applicable.
