Responsibilities:
  • Display used car features, characteristics, options, and more throughout the auto sales process
  • Close used car sales using strong negotiation and customer service skills to ensure a positive sales experience
  • Take a professional approach to your role as a sales associate, whether working with customers in the showroom or collaborating with team members at sales meetings
  • Confidently navigate used car sales contracts and work with sales management, finance, and service department team members to answer customer questions
  • Accompany auto sales customers on test drives that you arrange
  • Role: Buy 35+ cars per month at the front end/profit average of $3,500+.
  • Purchasing Cars: Identify, evaluate, and purchase pre-owned vehicles from auctions and trade-ins to meet inventory needs and sales goals.
  • Market Analysis: Do market research to understand trends, prices, and demand for used cars. Adjust how you buy based on what’s happening in the market.
  • Reporting: Accurately assess and report reconditioning costs when purchasing vehicles at auction to ensure precise data is provided.
  • Arbitration: Oversee the arbitration process from start to finish, ensuring vehicles are returned to auction when necessary, resolving claims, and selling any inventory over 60 days old.
  • Transportation: Coordinate vehicle transportation from the auction to the dealership, ensuring timely delivery within 3-7 days and overseeing all of the logistics.

Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to customer satisfaction are vital
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required; a high school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory
  • Must hold a valid, state-issued driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • At least one year working as a sales associate, preferably in a dealership setting, is necessary
  • Requires knowledge in used car features, auto sales, car dealership protocols, financing options, and automotive sales
  • Experience: 2+ years of proven experience as a used car buyer or in a similar role within the automotive industry, as well as at least 1 year of experience purchasing vehicles in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Purchase History: Be able to provide recent purchase examples.
