* You will prioritize treatment for patients having multiple problems and employ a variety of established emergency medical/medicine techniques, methods, and equipment to intervene on the patient's behalf. * You will report in a clear/concise manner, orally or in writing, what injuries were identifies and what care was administered at the scene or in transit. * You will decontaminate vehicle and equipment as directed by protocols.
* You will participate and instruct classes on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and other topic areas for Emergency Medical Technician. * You will provide medical service, fight fires and protect property and the environment. * You will perform thorough safety and maintenance inspections on emergency transport vehicles and inform management of any maintenance/repairs above your level of responsibility.
* You will participate in daily training and instruction classes covering all phases of fire protection, fire prevention and emergency medical services. * You will act as the driver/operator of and emergency response pumper/ladder, brush fire fighting, ambulance, hazardous, material response or other rescue vehicle as required. Qualifications GS-08: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: serving as a Firefighter AND Paramedic providing emergency medical response and treatment (e.g., Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); advanced life support (ALS); airway management, emergency childbirth), rescue operations (e.g., high and low angle rescue, trench confined space rescue, auto extrication) and transporting emergency personnel and patients safely to emergency room. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: serving as a Firefighter AND Paramedic performing and providing structural and wild land firefighting, emergency medical response and treatment (e.g., Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); advanced life support (ALS); airway management, emergency childbirth), rescue operations (e.g., high and low angle rescue, trench confined space rescue, auto extrication), hazardous materials response and transporting emergency personnel and patients safely to emergency room.
