LUBE TECH SUMMARY
Lube Tech lubricates the moving parts of vehicles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following
  • Works towards guaranteeing ultimate customer service and satisfaction.
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Sells lubrication, safety inspection, and other related services.
  • Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
  • Replaces oil and air filters.
  • Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary.
  • Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
  • Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants
  • Adds proper fluids to radiator and battery
  • Completes inspections sheets
  • Resets maintenance lights/tire pressure monitoring systems(TPMS)
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts
  • Documents all work performed on the repair order
  • Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager
  • Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins
  • Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Maintains equipment and work area to OSHA safety requirements
  • Keeps shop area neat and clean
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received
  • Advises manager of needed repairs to equipment
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management
  • Adheres to work schedules
  • Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. General working knowledge of mechanical operations. Valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record. Manual dexterity. Mus have color vision (the ability to identify and distinguish color).
EDUCATION
Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
