Pay: $260,000.00 - $435,000.00 per year

Job Description

  • Defend clients in consumer finance litigation involving credit cards, mortgage lending, auto finance, and other lending products.
  • Handle consumer finance disputes in state and federal courts and arbitration forums.
  • Defend claims arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
  • Handle California consumer protection matters involving the Rosenthal Act, California Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies Act (CCRAA), and related common law claims.
  • Conduct legal research and develop persuasive litigation strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
  • Collaborate with clients and litigation teams to manage matters efficiently.
  • Contribute to consumer class action defense matters when applicable.
  • Maintain strong organization and attention to detail across multiple active matters.

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar license.
  • 3+ years of relevant consumer finance litigation defense experience.
  • Experience defending matters involving credit card, mortgage, auto finance, or other lending products.
  • Experience with FCRA, FDCPA, TILA, TCPA, and California consumer protection statutes preferred.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Experience handling litigation in state and federal courts and/or arbitration forums.
  • Consumer class action defense experience desired.
  • Ability to work at least 3 days per week in the office.
