Auto Driveaway Jobs in Ohio (NOW HIRING)

Auto Driveaway information

What is an auto driveaway?

An Auto Driveaway job involves transporting vehicles from one location to another on behalf of dealerships, rental agencies, or individuals. Drivers are typically responsible for picking up a vehicle, driving it safely to its destination, and following any specific client instructions. These jobs can be short-distance or cross-country, and drivers are usually independent contractors. It’s a great option for those who enjoy road trips and flexibility in their work schedule.

What skills and qualifications are needed for an auto driveaway?

To thrive as an Auto Driveaway driver, you need a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, familiarity with different vehicle types, and strong route navigation skills. Knowledge of GPS mapping systems and trip documentation processes is often required, while a commercial driver's license (CDL) may be beneficial for transporting larger vehicles. Reliability, professionalism, and good time management are important soft skills to ensure vehicles are delivered safely and on schedule. These skills and qualities are essential for maintaining vehicle safety, meeting delivery timelines, and providing excellent service to clients.

What challenges do auto driveaway drivers face?

Auto Driveaway drivers often encounter challenges such as unfamiliar routes, tight delivery schedules, variable weather conditions, and adapting to a variety of vehicle types and conditions. Navigating long-distance drives and coordinating pick-up or drop-off details with dealerships or customers requires attention to detail and strong communication skills. While the work can be independent, drivers may need to collaborate with dispatchers or customer service teams to resolve scheduling or route changes. Adapting quickly and maintaining flexibility helps drivers manage these challenges and ensures timely, safe deliveries.

Job description

Description:

Auto Driveaway is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our operations team. You'll split your time between administrative coordination in the office and driving locally. If you like variety in your day and don't want to be chained to a desk, keep reading.

About Us

Auto Driveaway is a national leader in professional vehicle relocation, serving corporate fleets, fleet management companies, upfitters, dealerships, and OEMs with fast, safe, door-to-door driveaway service, backed by an unwavering commitment to safety and a national network of professional drivers.

What you'll actually do

  • Drive and deliver vehicles to service points, detail shops, and customer locations. This is a real part of the job, up to about 60% of your time and sometimes for extended stretches. You'll drive company cars and standard passenger vehicles, so no special license (like a CDL) is required.
  • Coordinate with drivers and operations leadership on dispatch, scheduling, and load assignments
  • Handle administrative tasks: processing driver paperwork, loading driver funds, and updating orders in our system
  • Provide phone support, route calls, and confirm delivery points with customers
  • Keep things organized, accurate, and moving in a fast-paced environment
  • Make safety an everyday priority
  • Jump in wherever the team needs you

What we're looking for

  • A clean motor vehicle record and the ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements
  • Some office, administrative, or customer-service experience. Backgrounds in retail, grocery, warehouse, or the trades are welcome, especially if you've handled scheduling, paperwork, or customer-facing work.
  • Comfortable being both at a desk and out in the field
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and solid organizational skills
  • Clear, professional communication, both on the phone and in writing
  • Someone who thrives when no two days look the same
  • High school diploma or GED

Nice to have (not required)

  • Experience in logistics, fleet operations, or the automotive industry
  • Familiarity with dispatch or transportation management systems

Benefits

  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Paid Vacation and Wellbeing Days
  • 401(k) Program
