Job Title:  Auto Dismantler/Production

Location: Sacramento, CA

Classification: Full-Time/ Non-Exempt

Reports to:  Shop Manager

Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm 


Job Summary:


In this role as Automotive Dismantler, you will process incoming vehicles, prepare them for the yard, and perform dismantling procedures. The ideal candidate enjoys working in the car yard and is committed to working a consistent schedule and contributing to the team. There are plenty of opportunities for growth and overtime.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • General labor
  • Intake the new vehicles into the yard
  • Remove harmful components from the cars to prepare them for the yard
  • Remove all top/bottom fluids and capture and store them in the proper storage containers
  • Remove batteries, mercury switches, and Freon. Store according to environmental requirements
  • Loosen tire lug nuts for tire removal. Identifying top-grade tires and wheel sets for retail sales
  • Ensure all garbage and non-sellable items are removed from the vehicles
  • Sort all recycled material from landfill material
  • Follow procedures and accurately mark vehicles following removal of fluids, parts, and trash
  • Prep and clean yard rows for setting - Safely set vehicles in the customer yard
  • Operate forklift to place cars for safe customer access
  • Remove identified auto parts, cores, metals and materials from vehicles
  • Maintain tools and equipment used to perform the job, reporting missing or damaged tools or equipment to the supervisor

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to use auto dismantling equipment / operate tools - hand tools, pneumatic tools, fluid evacuation machines, hand pumps
  • Experience with auto production, vehicle dismantling, and auto yard - preferred
  • Experience operating a forklift - desired, not required
  • Ability to lift tires and batteries weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation to get to and from work
  • Maintain a consistent work schedule
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Bilingual Spanish - desired, not required
