Job description

SCMI1 has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the role of Microminiature (2M) and MTR Certification Operator for the United States Navy. ย The candidate will function in accordance with the equivalent responsibilities of an Engineering Technician IV to provide critical technical assistance to United States Navy Systems Commands, NAVSEA, Fleet, and other Naval Support Activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform 2M/ MTR inspections and certifications
  • Ensure compliance with Navy 2M Manual and Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual
  • Provide and update 2M/ MTR Readiness Reports
  • Prepare Certificates of Compliance and Scope of Competency inspection letters as required
  • Maintain 2M/ MTR recertification and inspector qualifications
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to fleet personnel regarding 2M/ MTR issues
  • Evaluate 2M/ MTR technicians for proficiency and knowledge by administering written and practical examinations.
  • Coordinate requests for funding, schedule manpower and equipment required to inspect and assess Navy Activity 2M/ MTR programs
Security Clearance Requirements:
  • Must possess and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance.
Minimum Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related field
  • 3 to 5 years of Navy 2M/ MTR experience
  • Be currently 2M/ MTR certified
  • Complete Navy 2M/ MTR technician recertification course
  • Ability to complete Navy 2M/ MTR technician recertifier requalification course every 18 months.
  • Ability to complete local 2M/ MTR Inspector qualification under instruction
  • Have completed at least one tour of duty as a 2M/ MTR Inspector or 2M Instructor
  • MS Office suite proficiency required
  • Familiarity with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual requirements
  • Ability to use clear and concise oral and written communications
