550-Auto Dismantler/Parts Puller

FLSA Classification: Non Exempt

Pay Classification: Hourly

Reports To: Yard Manager

Job Description:

The Auto Dismantler/Parts Puller is responsible for removing parts from salvaged vehicles, ensuring that parts are properly identified, organized, and prepared for sale to customers. The position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

  • Identify and remove parts from salvaged vehicles using hand tools and power tools.
  • Inspect and test parts to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Properly identify and label parts, ensuring that they are organized and stored appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and track the movement of parts.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers and vendors to encourage repeat business and maintain a positive reputation in the industry.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yard operations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including enforcing safety protocols and ensuring that all employees are adhering to environmental regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Competencies:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yards preferred.
