Job Description

Berman Auto Group is seeking an experienced and driven Vice President of Accounting to work directly alongside the Chief Financial Officer in supporting the financial strategy, operational performance, and long-term growth of the Berman organization.

The VP of Accounting will serve as a key contributor in financial planning, reporting, operational analysis, and strategic decision-making across the organization.

Compensation: $125,000 - $175,000 annually (based on experience, credentials, and industry background)

Location: 3456 N. Kedzie Ave. Chicago, IL
This is an in-person position. Remote candidates will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the CFO on financial strategy, planning, and organizational growth initiatives
  • Assist in overseeing financial operations across the corporate automotive division
  • Lead and support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management
  • Monitor liquidity, working capital, and overall financial performance to optimize organizational resources
  • Analyze financial data and operational trends to support executive decision-making
  • Help develop and improve financial controls, reporting processes, and operational efficiencies
  • Collaborate with dealership leadership to drive accountability and performance
Qualifications
  • Active CPA license required
  • Strong background in financial management and accounting leadership
  • Experience in automotive retail is preferred, but not required
    • This may include experience working within a dealership group or servicing dealership clients within a public accounting firm
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, and operational analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to work closely with executive leadership
  • High level of integrity, discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
