They work under the supervision of experienced adjusters to determine the extent of an insurer’s liability by gathering information, interviewing involved parties, and inspecting vehicle damages. Trainees are trained to interpret policy coverage, estimate repair costs, and negotiate settlements. This role involves both office work and field visits, and is designed to prepare individuals for a full claims adjuster position.

Early on, you'll shadow experienced adjusters to observe claim investigations, customer interactions, and documentation processes. Many companies also assign mentors who provide ongoing guidance and feedback, helping you develop both technical knowledge and customer service skills. This supportive environment is designed to build your confidence and prepare you for independent case handling, with regular check-ins to track your progress.
