Job description

As a Body Shop Helper, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on our business and in the lives of our team members and customers every day. We are looking for an energetic, customer-focused Body Shop Helper who will help us redefine the car-buying experience. 

The Body Shop Helper is responsible for assisting the technicians in repairing and restoring all assigned vehicles to pre accident condition.

  • Assist in approaching the repair planning with a sense of urgency and detail to avoid waste and rework later in the process
  • Assist in de-trims and disassembles vehicles, putting parts on parts carts
  • Assist in pre-pulls to make repair vs. replace decisions
  • Assist in identifying and sourcing parts as necessary
  • Assist in performing quality repairs without passing on defects
  • Consistently utilize all required safety equipment and follows proper repair procedures
  • Adhere to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal
  • Keep personal work area organized and returns tools, materials and equipment to designated areas
  • ASE certification in body repairs
  • Auto Body Vo-Tech certification or military equivalent experience preferred
  • Demonstrate commitment to continued learning by ongoing participation in I-CAR
  • I-CAR Welding certificate a plus
  • Periodic lifting and carrying of objects over 50 pounds
  • Will be required to reach above and below shoulder level
  • Must be able to push materials/parts carts and push cars (with assistance)
  • Must be able to kneel, bend, squat and stoop for extended periods of time to complete or inspect repairs
  • Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment
  • May be exposed to repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion
  • May be required to inspect vehicles outdoors in inclement weather
  • May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, high levels of dust and noise in repair center
  • Must be able to wear protective equipment, including respirator
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screens (background & drug test)
