Job description

Body Shop Technician
Transdev inIrvine, CAis seeking a Body Shop Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Body Shop Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:
  • $34.86/hr. - $35.02/hr. (based on experience/qualifications)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently perform painting and body repair work on vehicles at a highly specialized, skilled level; estimates extent of damage and repair costs.
  • Maintain and repair flooring.
  • Estimate the extent of body damage and repair costs.
  • Fit and replace panels, repair body dents and scratches.
  • Fabricate new seat covering and repair and replace damaged seats, including belts and other seat attachments.
  • Replace damaged windows, mirrors, and other glass.
  • May provide emergency road service and conduct road tests.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to accurately diagnose and repair a variety of body and interior damage without guidance.
  • Knowledge of body repair methods.
  • Skill in the use of welding equipment.
  • Skill in painting, sanding, and buffing equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math skills.
  • Ability to perform written estimates.
  • Ability to read, understand, and safely follow manuals.
  • Ability to pass and maintain two Collision Repair and Refinish (B2-B5) Automotive Service Excellence Certification (ASE).
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  • Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
