Instructional Assistant
Location:
Powhatan,VA
Spiritos School- TASKIDS INC
Hours: 8am - 4pm, Mon- Fri
$400 Sign-on Bonus*

We're seeking a full timeInstructional Assistant who would like to be part of a dynamic team. We are a Special Education Private Day School that endeavors to change the world one child at a time. Our staff provides compassionate and trauma-assumed behavioral therapy to children between the ages of 2 and 15 with an emphasis on early intervention services. Students are providedinstruction based on individualized behavior plans and academic programs by an extremely well qualified, fun, and friendly staff who are dedicated to putting children first. Staff are supervised by a supportive team of professionals and clinicians. Successful candidates will be professional and highly motivated individuals with demonstrated experience in the special education, autism, or early intervention fields.
Requirementsfor the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • At least 6 months of daycare experience

  • Ability to provide 1 to 3 direct and group instruction to Neurodiverse students based in the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.

  • Ability to supervise assigned student at all times to ensure the safety of the student, peers and adults in the setting.

  • Ability to maintain appropriate documentation on the outcomes of discrete trial programming and behavior analysis data.

  • Ability to assist with student assessments, under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.

  • Ability to exercise initiative and creativity in helping to design and implement dynamic instruction for students.

  • Ability to provide support in crisis situations employing Safety Care approved techniques.

  • Ability to provide any other required services to aid the studentin reaching their full potential.

  • Ability to function efficiently under minimal supervision and to take initiative where appropriate.

  • Ability to meet physical requirements associated with position.

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, provide fingerprints, and demonstrate a negative TB test upon hire.

  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care (All training will be provided).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant office productivity software.

  • High school diploma required, Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.

May be required to lift up to 25 pounds and assist students with toileting and personal hygiene issues.
