Job description

Augusta Health Scholars is a collaborative program to support and sponsor Blue Ridge Nursing Students. Students accepted into the AH Scholars program will benefit through robust financial support, professional development opportunities, access to subject matter experts, and unique employment at Augusta Health.
Requirements:
  • Admitted into the Blue Ridge Community College Nursing Program beginning 2026/2027 academic school year
  • Remain in good Academic Standing with Blue Ridge
  • Remain in good standing with Augusta Health

Applicants are required to submit the following:
  • Formal application in UKG
  • Two professional reference letters (e.g., teacher, counselor, coach, supervisor, etc. in the absence of prior employment)
  • Cover letter addressing three key items:
    1. The selection process for the Augusta Health Scholars program is very competitive. What does it mean to be a scholar to you?
    2. Healthcare professionals are faced with adversity every day. Describe a time you encountered a significant challenge and how you were able to overcome it.
    3. The part-time hours on the job are intentionally designed to strengthen the Scholar's clinical knowledge and application. Tell us how you will balance your obligations to meet the minimum requirement for hours on the job.

If selected, candidates will participate in a panel interview consisting of questions developed by Nursing Shared Governance.
