This role is responsible for leading technical execution across development projects while partnering closely with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, high-quality, and compliant medical device mechatronic solutions.* The Technology Lead will work closely with Product Management, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Program Management to define technical architecture, guide development activities, review software designs, and mentor engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to influence technical decisions across multidisciplinary teams.* The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, mentoring engineers, and driving continuous improvement while delivering innovative medical technology solutions. **Key Responsibilities*** Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary product development programs from concept through commercialization, including software, algorithms, electronics, mechanical systems, orthopedic instrumentation and visualization technologies.* Define and maintain overall system architecture, ensuring seamless integration of hardware, software, sensors, optics, visualization, instrumentation, and enabling technologies.* Lead technical design reviews covering system architecture, software, embedded systems, algorithms, electronics, mechanical designs, manufacturability, usability, and clinical workflow.* Drive development of navigation, visualization, computer vision, sensor fusion, image processing, automation, and other enabling technologies supporting orthopedic procedures.* Collaborate with Product Management, Clinical, Systems Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and Program Management to translate clinical and business requirements into robust technical solutions.* Provide technical leadership throughout the medical device development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with applicable FDA, MDR, IEC, and ISO requirements.* Mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams while fostering technical excellence, innovation, and sound engineering practices.* Identify technical risks across hardware, software, instrumentation, algorithms, manufacturing, and clinical workflows and develop effective mitigation strategies.* Support verification, validation, usability engineering, and design transfer activities to ensure safe and effective products.* Evaluate emerging technologies in navigation, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, sensors, visualization, and automation for future product roadmaps.* Partner with Manufacturing and Operations to ensure designs are robust, manufacturable, serviceable, and scalable.* Drive innovation through invention disclosures, patent development, technology roadmaps, and continuous improvement initiatives. **Scope / Role Dimensions*** Provides technical leadership across multiple medical device development programs and technology platforms.* Influences technology strategy, system architecture, and engineering direction across software, hardware, algorithms, instrumentation and visualization.* Serves as the primary technical authority for multidisciplinary product development efforts.* Works closely with Clinical, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Product Management, Quality, and Engineering organizations.* Supports multiple concurrent development programs while balancing technical excellence, regulatory compliance, schedule, cost, and product quality. **Minimum Qualifications*** Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, etc.) or related technical discipline;
