Job description
Job Title: Quality Assurance Receiving Technician
Department: Quality
Reports to: QA Supervisor
Location: Catalyst Building American Fork
Shift: Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:30pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function/duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties/functions may be added or assigned.
- Responsible for the inspection and sampling of all incoming raw products, ingredients, and packaging materials, and ensures that the materials are in conformance with established specifications and standards.
- Responsible for inspection and evaluation of product returns. Product returns may be a product that has been rejected due to a customer complaint, incorrect product shipped to a customer, etc.
- Evaluation of collected samples based on established specifications and requirements.
- Issuing incoming materials inspection reports, non-conformance reports for materials that do not conform to specifications, Supplier Corrective Action Reports; ensuring all incoming material inspection reports are filed properly.
- Communication of non-conformances to upper management.
- Control and maintenance of incoming QA Sample storage and library of samples to ensure quick retrieval.
- Review supplier certificates of analysis (COAs) against the specifications to ensure conformance.
- Assist in swabbing for the environmental monitoring program
- Maintenance of the Shelf-life extension program.
- Serving as the backup for the QA Auditors.
- Other duties as assigned.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- Comply with the Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHS&S) policies and applicable regulatory and company EHS&S rules and requirements.
- Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
- Attend scheduled EHS&S training program.
- Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EHS&S goals and plans.
- Recommend improved EHS&S practices.
- Practice safe work habits and follow general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Adheres to and ensures lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.
