Job description

Founded in 1985, with offices in Houston, College Station, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin, Electra Link remains at the forefront of technology. Our professional capabilities range from one network cable drop to turnkey multi-building installations and off-shore rig projects, including full audiovisual systems. Our Registered Communication Distribution Designers (RCDD) have designed and installed thousands of structured cabling systems, and our AV systems integration teams have a depth of experience unmatched in the industry.

The Audio-Visual Sales Engineer is an integral part of the AV team. This role will collaborate with the Design team to secure pre-sales and post-sales requirements, requiring a strong understanding of Audio-Visual principles, practices, and design. The Sales Engineer must have substantial communication skills to interface with clients, architects, contractors, project managers, and company staff. This role will work directly with Customers, Sales & AV Designers.

 Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, and engineering from simple to complex AV systems
  • Attend sales meetings and job walks
  • Create Project Closeout Documents
  • Responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the Sales team as the key technical advisor
  • Acting as lead Sales Engineer during the presales process through solution implementation
  • Providing support to the Design Team in requirement identification, solution design, and customer presentation for Audio-Visual Project Opportunities
  • Providing discovery (on-site/remote) support to capture environmental details
  • Architecting cost effect, reliable, supportable, Audio-Visual designs based on the client's needs analysis
  • Meet with the client to develop a clear and concise project requirements document for each project
  • Developing detailed Scope of Works for Audio-Visual Projects
  • Creating and modifying documentation, Scopes of Works (SOW), line drawings (DRW), Bill of Materials (BOM), and Site Survey (SSRV) as required
  • Interacting in person, by phone, &/or by e-mail directly with client management and end-users
  • Responsible for articulating technology and product positioning to both business and technical users
  • Identifying all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process
  • Demonstrating continued technical education through vendor and/or industry certification achievement
  • Delivering technology training to Sales and customers as requested

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience within the audio visual industry
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in engineering & design
  • Extensive knowledge of signal flow for audio, video, control, and networking.
  • AVIXA, CTS, and CTS-D certifications preferred
  • Certifications in Crestron, Extron, Shure, Planar, Biamp, AMX, QSC, Polycom, Cisco, and others
  • Competent use of MS Office, Visio and Database Programs with high attention to detail
