KHS Audio /Visual Technician
Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the high school Principal and in conjunction with the Director of Technology, works to facilitate audio visual needs for district events within the high school auditorium facility.
Essential Performance Responsibilities including but not limited to:
  • Maintains inventory of audio/visual equipment.
  • Troubleshoots problems and repairs or causes to be repaired the audio/visual equipment.
  • Works with students for the purpose of ensuring their ability to use audio/visual equipment.
  • Supervises and maintains the sound and light equipment in auditorium.
  • Sets up equipment for school activities.

Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned.

  • Uses audio/visual equipment.
  • May use personal computers and related equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of audio/visual equipment, installation, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of end-users.
  • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to report work orally and/or in writing to supervisor.
  • Ability to establish and, maintain cooperative working relationship with, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Work in standard office and school building environments.

Qualifications Profile
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
  • High School diploma.
  • Related college or technical school coursework or technical training.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
  • Successful related experience in audio/visual maintenance.
