ON Services is a national, full-service event production company specializing in AV design, lighting, scenic design, and creative solutions for corporate events, trade shows, concerts, and large-scale productions. Our company is comprised of three specialized teams - ON Site, ON Events, and ON Tour - working together to deliver seamless execution across venues, events, and tours.


About the Role


The Audio Visual Technician supports the daily setup, operation, and breakdown of audio visual equipment within a hospitality venue environment. This role plays an important part in delivering successful event experiences by preparing equipment, supporting event execution, assisting clients and venue partners, and maintaining ON Services standards for professionalism, service, and reliability.


This position works closely with the Director of Audio Visual Services, venue teams, clients, and ON Site team members to support event needs, equipment readiness, customer service, and overall venue operations. The Audio Visual Technician helps ensure events are delivered smoothly, safely, and with attention to detail in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

Requirements

Responsibilities


  • Set up, operate, and break down audio visual equipment for events within a hospitality venue environment.
  • Support the execution of live events by ensuring equipment is prepared, tested, and functioning properly.
  • Assist with equipment inventory, organization, quality control, and proper equipment care.
  • Provide professional and responsive support to venue partners, clients, guests, and internal team members.
  • Promote exemplary customer service to both facility partners and end-user clients.
  • Maintain a professional image and represent ON Services positively at all times.
  • Support and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work environment.
  • Share in evening, weekend, holiday, and split-shift schedules as needed to support client and event needs.
  • Complete required daily paperwork, reporting, and ON Site training.
  • Assist the property Director and leadership team with duties related to revenue growth, cost control, customer service improvement, and problem resolution.
  • Support additional operational and event-related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in hospitality, customer service, event support, audio visual services, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of audio visual equipment, event setup, or willingness to learn technical event operations.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with clients, guests, venue partners, and team members.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow direction in a fast-paced event environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate office and audio visual equipment as needed.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and office technology.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on event and business needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts as required.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Some college coursework preferred.
  • Background in music, recording, audio visual technology, computers, hospitality, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting live events, meetings, conferences, or hospitality venue operations preferred.
  • Fluency in a second language is helpful.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment


  • This role requires physical mobility, including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, climbing, crawling, grasping, writing, repetitive motions, bending, listening, and the ability to use applicable hearing and vision functions.
  • Must have finger dexterity to operate office equipment, computers, and audio visual equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Work may be performed indoors and outdoors depending on venue and event needs.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-facing event environment with changing schedules, deadlines, and operational needs.
