About the Position:
A Sr. UX/UI Designer creates simple, user-centric design solutions for complex challenges that our prospective students encounter, leading to an improved experience. A Sr, UX/UI Designer works on projects from concept to execution, mentors and provides guidance to team members with projects that are in motion, and collaboratively influences other teams and team members, such as visual designers, writers, front end developers and product owners, to have a broad impact on the student experience, while also maintaining and growing a new design system. A Sr. UX/UI Designer focuses on mobile as a priority and is passionate about expanding features to create experiences that move with the user from one device to another.
What You'll Do
1. Collaborate with colleagues in Academics, Information Technology, Operations and within Marketing to understand user problems, create wireframes, design high-fidelity mockups and interaction specifications to lead to solutions for complex challenges that our prospective students encounter.
2. Define and maintain detailed design patterns that scale, allowing broad use across University platforms and applications that will positively impact the student experience.
3. Lead and participate in brainstorming sessions and presentations to marketing leaders and other senior leaders across the University to demonstrate product features and flows; use feedback to iterate and improve end-to-end experience.
4. Exercise product discovery methods to continuously gather qualitative and quantitative insights through user testing, studies, surveys, customer interviews and other methods; understand and respond to data obtained through these methodologies to inform design decisions and recommendations.
5. Lead and/or participate in projects, from conception to execution, to meet priorities and requirements in an Agile environment.
6. Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to more junior leveled staff.
7. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in Human-computer Interaction, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Visual Design, Web Design or similar and six (6) years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, product designer or similar role; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience where one (1) year of relevant experience can replace every two (2) year of post-secondary education
• A strong portfolio showcasing examples of market-leading user experience and visual design work
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• A strong portfolio showcasing examples of problem solving and applying user-centered design principles: concept sketches, user stories, interaction flows, prototypes, design specifications for development, and UI mockups for desktop and mobile. Examples of both methodology and production assets are highly encouraged.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar
• Strong skills in visual design
• Experience working in a collaborative team, leading white-boarding/problem solving workshops
• Ability to work directly with developers for implementation of design
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Experience partnering closely with other teams to work towards positive outcomes and propose well-informed new directions
• Experience in a fast paced, changing environment
• Familiarity working in SAFe Agile framework
• Self-motivated team player

Pay Range
The annual pay range for this position is $96,400 (minimum), $145,500 (midpoint), and $194,600 (maximum).*
*Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget. Compensation above the midpoint is generally associated with experienced, long-tenured employees who have demonstrated sustained performance and expertise in the role.
