Sr. Development Engineer
This role requires technical experiences related to building cutting-edge product and Development experiences. This role needs to be comfortable working with the manufacturing industry as well as high technology-driven products with LG and customers. This role is focused on developing a project and being deeply involved in technical requirements in the development as well as resolving issues. Communication with Customer & Tier companies and development management to ensure strength and innovation in the LG automotive business. This role will directly influence the integration project development across all LG and automotive manufactures and requires confidence with identifying problems, communicating the concerns and driving for closure in order to deliver the best development quality within the time frame to build trust while demonstrating excellent features implementation and problem resolving skills. This role must have a humble service mindset and be a results-driven self-motivator.
Responsibilities:
  • Identify and manage all project development quality during and after development
  • Resolve Software & Hardware issues and communication with the customer to handle the issues
  • Coach and mentor engineer's, one-stop-shop for OEM customers and internal people
  • Manage OEM customer design request, develop APQP and manage 3rd party solution
  • Develop a feature (if necessary, multiple functions)
  • Development planning and managing multiple feature development milestones
  • Support:
    • Resolving business, manufacturing, and technical issues
    • Identifying and managing all feature issues and publish a weekly report
    • Cross-functional teams Validation, Manufacturing, procurement/Purchasing, Sales and Quality, customers
  • Communicate with LGE HQ cross-functional teams
  • Release weekly development progress report and communicate with customer's engineers
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years or equivalent experience in automotive component development or testing
  • Prior experience or knowledge of:
    • Managing multiple technical projects simultaneously and delivering to agreed-upon cost, quality, and timing expectations
    • Automotive development process or service new technologies to industry players
    • Vehicle Infotainment features & Telematics and Vehicle interface technology products
    • Hardware development skill (EE design process including schematic design, board layout, circuit analysis, Wi-Fi/Modem/BLE/Bluetooth/UWB/Cellular)
    • Working across multiple disciplines (SiriusXM, Carplay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, WiFi, Audio sound control, RF, OTA, VIF, CPU&Micom, Network, Hardware, testing)
    • Leading and manage engagements with customers (mostly internal), collaborators, and 3rd party developers
    • MS office software applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with transparency
  • Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
  • Desire to learn constantly and dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies
  • Passion for technology and problem solving

Travel/Physical Requirements:
  • Up to 40% travel, including out-of-state and international travel as required
  • Use of X-ray equipment and environmental chambers
  • Ability to:
    • Sit/Drive and/or test in a vehicle for up to 8 hours a day, up to 4 hours at a time
    • Ability to lift/carry up to 30lb samples, benches, box and tools
    • Interact with display/center controller/steering wheel while driving or while stationary testing

    • Vehicle Infotainment & Telematics feature and Vehicle interface technology products
    • Complex systems
    • IATF 16949 certification
    • APQP&FMEA certification
