Job description

Job Summary:
Google is seeking a creative and driven Software Engineer to help build the next generation of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solutions. The role involves leveraging AI and platform engineering to automate critical functions like continuous controls monitoring and risk management for Google's cloud and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices amongst available technologies (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Design and implement solutions in one or more specialized Machine Learning (ML) areas, leverage ML infrastructure, and demonstrate expertise in a chosen field.
• Design, build, and maintain a scalable platform to support AI-driven Governance, Risk, and Compliance functions.
• Develop and implement AI/ML models and algorithms to automate and scale Continuous Controls Monitoring (CCM), privacy control enforcement, audit processes, risk reporting, and other Governance, Risk, and Compliance workflows.
• Assess data signal quality, and engineer pipelines to ingest and process datasets for training AI models and monitoring control performance.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more general purpose programming languages, including Java, Golang.
• 3 years of experience with one or more of the following: speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
• 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
• Experience with generative AI, generative AI agents, natural language processing, or large language models.
Preferred:
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience in one or more of the following: development of consumer applications, data warehousing, analytics and reporting, data mining
